Harvesting crops is extremely time-sensitive, and equipment failure can sharply reduce a farmer’s profits. This means that when the time is ripe, John Deere Combines must perform in a wide range of high-dust climates and abusive off-road environments. That’s why Deere needed a DC gear motor able to meet stringent quality, performance and durability standards — and a supply chain partner that can pass a rigorous qualification process. When the dust settled, the motor they chose bore the AM Yellow Diamond.
AM Equipment’s 214-1008 motor met or exceeded all of Deere’s requirements. Since 2008, the 214-1008 has been reliably powering the concave adjust and fan speed functions on Deere Combines around the world.
A Motor That Can Take the Heat — and Much More
Power Breezer sought an economical, reliable DC motor to actuate the fan rotation feature of its large-scale outdoor mobile cooling unit. Deployed in military applications and at sporting events, all of the motor’s components needed to withstand high heat, rain, dust, sand and humidity.
Coupled to an AM-designed drive arm and actuating link, our 235-1002 high-torque motor provided the optimum balance of torque, energy efficiency and durability that Power Breezer required for this low-speed, corrosion-resistant application — which is also DOD- and CE-compliant.
A Motor Built for Strength and Efficiency
Laval Underground pioneered the concept of well-camera inspection in the 1940s. As technology advanced, the once-bulky, truck-mounted system had grown small enough to mount on a handcart and inspect water wells and boreholes as small as 2″. To drive it, Laval needed a strong, lightweight, DC battery-powered motor able to deploy and retrieve up to 1300 feet of cable …and, well, AM had the answer.
