AM Equipment's 214 Series DC Gear Motor

It looks like a window lift motor, but it is an everything motor!

The 214 Series is frequently mistaken for a window lift motor, but its strengths and features make it indispensable for other applications instead.  It serves as a utility motor unconnected to a door system.

Qualities of the 214:

  • Self-locking

  • Resists backdrive

  • Internal circuit breaker protected

  • Double flat power take-off shaft

  • Power take-off shaft extends from motor housing plane

  • Waterproof connector

  • 12 V, LH housing

  • 14 Nm stall torque

  • 90 rpm no-load

Standard window lift motors run a gear that rotates on a fixed axle, which bends out of place with a side load.  Because of the 214's unique bushing system and power take-off shaft, it can handle a side load without bending.  The result?  It is perfect for driving a gearbox, linear actuating, and rotary actuating.

Sample Application: Solar Panel Positioning

Not only can AM Equipment's DC Gear Motors lift, lower, deploy, retract, rotate, oscillate, open and close, they can also do elevation and azimuth positioning for solar panels.

What's azimuth positioning?  A very fancy term for rotation to follow an astronomical object--in this case, our very own sun.  Elevation positioning refers to the tilting motion of the solar panels to face the sun, no matter its height in the sky.

A solar panel that follows the movement of the sun is far more productive than a stationary one, and we’re proud that our DC Gear Motors support the green energy industry.
