Receiving/Warehousing Specialist

The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate AM Equipment’s Inventory, Warehousing, Receiving, Inspection, and inventory distribution.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Inventory Control

Maintain accurate count of product on hand, including coordination and/or execution of regular cycle-counting; prepare count variance report for the buyers.
Detect low inventory levels and report to the buyers to prevent manufacturing delays caused by insufficient inventory.
Investigate and resolve inventory issues, working with all parties.
Support outside warehouse cycle counts (parts at vendors like OPC or offsite warehouses).

Material Management:

  • Maintains and organizes material storage and material locations.
  • Maintain clear and accurate labeling of all materials within the warehouse.
  • Evaluate and organize raw materials for maximum efficiency.
  • Organize and deliver parts/materials to manufacturing workstations timely and accurately.
  • Pick up and drop off parts and materials to suppliers.

Receiving:

  • Unload delivery trucks manually and/or with forklift in a timely and safe manner.
  • Compare quantity and part number of items received against purchase orderand report results to Purchasing Specialist.
  • Enter received items into database system.
  • Identify and label products for incoming inspection.
  • Deliver packing lists to accounting.
  • Identify and label received customer property as required.

Inspection:

  • Identify product requiring inspection.
  • Inspect parts/materials to ensure they are free of defects and adhere to specifications and acceptance criteria.
  • Log incoming inspection results.
  • Mark product as either “accepted” (green dot) or “rejected” (red dot). Report inspection results to Purchasing Specialist.
  • Record proper inventory adjustments into database for any product rejected.
  • Notify Operation’s Manager and workstation owners of received goods critical to on-time delivery.
  • Scan documentation as necessary (records, material, and process certifications), and follow general records management and archive processes.

  • During inspection duties, monitor equipment performance making sure that all station tools, equipment, and instruments are operating within quality control limits.
  • Initiate corrective action, including generation of an NCR, when a nonconforming product or process is discovered.
  • Work with others to implement durable corrective action plans to audit findings or NCR’s.
  • Ensure workstation Process Control Plans, and equipment calibration schedules are implemented and current.
  • Identify, suggest, and implement opportunities for process or product improvement.
  • Maintain all related training certifications

  • During inspection activities, monitor work area and equipment making sure that all station tools, equipment, and surrounding area remain safe and comply with safety regulations.

  • Adherence to PPE guidelines based on task being performed.

Other Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations and bottlenecks.
  • Employee stays up to date with the latest technology, best practices, and industry readings.
  • Assist with monthly/weekly reporting as needed.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by Management.
  • Serves as backup for manufacturing personnel.

Job Requirements

  • Experience in incoming inspection, stockroom, or related position is preferred.
  • Basic Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to read engineering prints and technical documents.
  • Ability to use common measurement tools.
  • Understanding of basic gauging principles.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions.
  • Good organizational capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability/willingness to learn new skills, procedures, and alternative work methods.
  • Ability to adhere to AM Equipment Core Values.
  • Good manual dexterity.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude.
Physical Demands:
  • Mechanical assembly using hand tools.
  • Applying torque up to 25 foot pounds.
  • Some repetitive hand, wrist, and arm motions.
  • Minimal exposure to hazardous materials.
  • Climbing ladders.
  • Lifting 50 lbs. safely.
  • Keying/Typing.
Mental or Visual Demands:
  • Frequent management of concurrent tasks under stress.

Attendance:

This position requires attendance of 40 hours per week during AM Equipment’s published working hours, excluding a minimum 30-minute unpaid lunch period.
