Have you ever encountered those fancy automatic gates? You know the ones - maybe they lead to a parking lot, a warehouse, a movie studio, or a private drive. Well, AM Equipment makes the DC gear motors to power those gates.

AM Equipment provides controlled motion solutions for varied applications, including automatic gates. Our 226 Series Long Life DC gear motors are weather-resistant and durable—ideal for outdoor settings. These are high-torque motors that can easily handle tough tasks like operating gates.

Another bonus? Since the 226 Series are 12 V or 24 V DC motors, they can be used in remote locations and operated with solar power.

5:1 Gear Box & 214 Series Motor Assembly

AM Equipment’s gear box and motor assembly makes light work of many tough applications, such as deploying and retracting powered steps, lifting and lowering bay doors, and opening and closing sliding doors. This motor and gear package features an output shaft supported with dual ball bearings to increase strength and durability.

Our gear box features a 5:1 gear ratio and comes standard with over center locking linkage. Custom linkages are available, or it can be ordered without linkage. This combination includes our 214 Series 14 Nm DC gear motor, which is 12 V.

An added bonus? The system is engineered and assembled in the USA!

214 Series DC Gear Motors - So Many Applications!

AM Equipment’s 214 Series features make it perfectly suited for a huge range applications.  Because of the 214’s unique bushing system and power take-off shaft, it can handle heavier side loads than competitors’ motors.  The result?  It is perfect for driving a gearbox, linear actuator, or rotary actuator.

Customer Spotlight: Indi Igeniería y Diseño

Indi Engineering and Design is a group in Monterrey, Mexico. Indi is directed by Jesus Tamez-Duque, who graduated from Tec de Monterrey. Their main focus is to create products that make life easier for others.

One of Indi’s spotlight products has the challenge to designing an affordable pediatric exoskeleton. In order to have the whole world’s input, Indi has made the exoskeleton, named Alice, an open source program. Alice will help kids walk on their own two feet. In addition to Alice, a second project is being worked on that will help support and move a single knee, named Aknee (pronounced Annie).

Thinking out of the box led Indi to our AM Equipment’s 226 series DC gear motor. Our motor meets all of their requirements; power, two way rotation, availability, and price. Additional features like electronic locking, metal gear, and low amperage draw just add icing to the cake!

Sample Application: Automated Hose Reels

Our new 240 Series Long Life Motor is tailor made for tasks like deploying and retracting hose reels. In fact, it doesn’t matter whether you’re using hoses, cables, or cords—our motor will handle them all with ease. Oh! And your hose reel could be mounted in the back of your truck or freestanding. Either way works for the Long Life Motor.
