Manufacturing Technician

Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Technician I reports directly to the Operations Manager and is responsible for managing all facets of a work station in which products are assembled for customer orders. This important role ensures that these products are manufactured to engineering specifications with high quality to be delivered on time. In this position, you will assemble and package sub-assemblies, accessories, and finished goods following quality controlled work instructions. You will work as part of a larger team, frequently interacting with other team members.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Schedule the build of product subassemblies or final assemblies for incoming work orders based on due dates, priority, complexity, and workstation capacity.
  • Plan and schedule work to meet production and delivery requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain established inventory levels for components of the workstation and notify proper personnel in a timely manner when quantities are approaching re-order points.
  • Organize and ensure the proper function of the workstation, tools, and equipment.
  • Conduct routine station preventative maintenance per the station schedule and maintain accurate records of these activities in the maintenance logs.
  • Ensure all gauges related to customer quality assurance remain within calibration schedules and notify proper personnel in a timely manner when calibrations are approaching expiration dates.
  • Examine incoming components and subassemblies for functional or cosmetic defects. For defects identified or suspected, follow established processes for isolating and managing non-conforming materials.
  • Assemble sub-assemblies, assemblies, accessories and finished goods according to work instructions, engineering prints, and bills-of-material.
  • Assemble packaging and pack products into appropriate packaging according to customer or internal standards.
  • Maintain standard production throughput rates and production quality control measures for each workstation.
  • Accurately maintain electronic and/or written records, and transmit all data related to a work order per company processes and procedures.

Job Requirements

    • High school degree or equivalent
    Experience:
    • Related experience preferred, but not required
    Skills:
    • Ability to read engineering prints, follow work instructions and implement a Quality Control plan
    • Capable of reading and understanding English
    • Excellent mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, and ability to do fine assembly
    • Basic computer skills
    • Strong communication and team working skills
    • Problem-solving and analytical skills to identify problems and implement solutions
